The RTL9210B chipset is a USB bridge that combines a USB device with both a PCIe controller and a SATA controller. It can automatically switch between USB-to-PCIe and USB-to-SATA modes via the PEDET interface of the M.2 mechanism.

In USB-to-PCIe mode, the RTL9210B supports PCIe Gen3 x2. It offers PCIe bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps. The PCIe host supports NVMe Express.

In USB-to-SATA mode, the RTL9210B supports SATA hosts at Gen3 speeds. For SATA, it offers a bandwidth of up to 6 Gbps.

It supports dynamic switching power state with NVMe/SATA/USB power management for power saving mode.
